LOT and Thai Airways plan codeshare partnership

LOT Polish Airlines and Thai Airways International have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a future codeshare partnership covering selected destinations in Europe, Asia and Oceania. Subject to regulatory approval, the first flights under the cooperation are planned for the start of the 2027 summer timetable, expanding connections through LOT’s Warsaw–Bangkok route.

The agreement was signed by Robert Ludera, LOT’s chief commercial officer and board member, and Kittiphong Sansomboon, Thai Airways’ chief commercial officer. The signing coincided with the inauguration of LOT’s direct service between Warsaw and Bangkok.

The planned partnership will extend the airlines’ existing interline cooperation, which already allows passengers to combine LOT and Thai Airways flights in a single journey. Under a codeshare arrangement, selected flights operated by one carrier would also be marketed under the other airline’s code and flight number, making connecting itineraries easier to search and book.

The arrangement is expected to support onward travel through Bangkok to destinations in Southeast Asia and Oceania, as well as connections through Warsaw into Europe. Specific routes, flight numbers, launch dates and booking details have not been disclosed. The carriers must still sign a formal codeshare agreement, complete technical and operational preparations and obtain the necessary regulatory approvals.
