Lufthansa has completed the anniversary livery on its Airbus A321neo Hamm (registration D-AIEM), adding two final employee-selected stories to the aircraft’s design. The 12 motifs, displayed in frames around an oversized crane logo, will travel across Europe until the end of 2028. QR codes beside the images link to background information, turning the aircraft’s anniversary branding into a collection of employee and company history rather than an operational change.
The latest additions recall a special Frankfurt-Bogotá flight on 19 March 2020 that brought stranded travellers home; some had waited at the airport for seven days. The other story concerns an employee who helped establish Lufthansa sales offices in Dresden from June 1990 and celebrated German reunification in Berlin on 3 October that year.
The project began with an internal call for submissions. A jury shortlisted 20 proposals before employees voted for the final 12. Other imagery includes a photograph of Nicola Lisy and Evi Hetzmannseder, Lufthansa’s first two female pilots.
The livery was introduced in stages during the airline’s 2026 anniversary year. Lufthansa has not quantified its reach or impact. The aircraft’s routes and capacity are unchanged.
