Volotea resumes flights at A Coruña with five domestic routes

Volotea resumed operations at A Coruña Airport on 6 November, when its first returning flight from Bilbao landed at 9.05am. The airline is restoring service to five Spanish cities: Bilbao, Málaga and Valencia began operating that day, Sevilla is due to follow on 7 November, and Alicante on 2 December. Each route is scheduled to operate twice weekly during the winter season.

The return follows the end of Volotea’s Málaga and Valencia services on 2 April, after an agreement covering the airline’s continued presence at Alvedro was not renewed. Volotea secured a new agreement through a route tender. The staggered launch means Alicante will not join the network until December, while Sevilla starts the day after the first three routes.

Volotea began serving A Coruña in 2019 and has carried more than 400,000 passengers to and from the airport. Its route plan also includes higher summer frequencies on selected services to Málaga, Sevilla and Valencia. The airline projected that it would have offered more than 433,000 seats at Alvedro by the end of 2026.
