Qatar Airways inaugurated twice-weekly flights linking Doha, Bogotá and Caracas on 4 November, opening service to Colombia and Venezuela with Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. Flight QR783 operates on Wednesdays and Sundays from Hamad International Airport via Bogotá to Caracas; the return leg flies nonstop to Doha. The triangular route gives both capitals a direct connection to the airline’s hub and expands its Americas network to 17 destinations.
The published schedule has the Doha departure at 07:35, arriving in Bogotá at 16:25. The aircraft leaves Bogotá at 17:55 and reaches Caracas at 21:00, then departs at 23:30 for Doha, arriving at 20:35 the following day. Times are local and may change.
The Doha timings are designed to connect with onward services through Hamad International Airport to destinations including Australia, China, Japan, Lebanon, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates. In Colombia, Qatar Airways’ codeshare with LATAM Airlines Colombia provides connections from Bogotá to 17 domestic destinations, among them Medellín, Cali, Cartagena, Barranquilla, San Andrés and Leticia.
Qatar Airways is the first Gulf airline to serve Venezuela. The launch had been postponed from earlier planned dates in July and September; the initial delay was attributed to earthquake damage affecting infrastructure at Maiquetía Airport.
