EuroAtlantic Airways is temporarily supplementing capacity with an Airbus A340-300 operated by Universal Sky Carrier for selected services from Lisbon, including a charter flight to Maceió and flights to Bissau on 4, 11 and 18 September. The widebody is being used as a short-term capacity measure rather than as a permanent addition to the Portuguese carrier’s fleet.
The aircraft deployment highlights EuroAtlantic’s reliance on external widebody lift to cover long-haul and charter demand. USC, also known as Universal Sky Carrier, specialises in ACMI and wet-lease operations and has long-haul capability through the A340-300, which remains suitable for lower-frequency routes that still require significant seat capacity.
The service pattern indicates a targeted operational arrangement for specific dates rather than a broad network change. No commercial terms, aircraft registration or duration of the arrangement have been disclosed.
