Vietjet expands Collins partnership to support A320neo family operations

Vietjet Air has expanded its contract with RTX’s Collins Aerospace to add FlightSense support for 44 additional Airbus A320neo-family aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines. The agreement extends component-support coverage across the Vietnamese airline’s narrowbody fleet, with guaranteed availability intended to reduce aircraft downtime and improve maintenance-cost predictability.

FlightSense combines component support with predictive-maintenance capabilities through Collins’ Ascentia analytics platform. Aircraft data is converted into maintenance actions designed to identify potential component requirements before they affect operations.

The expanded arrangement follows Vietjet’s selection of 44 additional GTF-powered A320neo-family aircraft, including A321neo and A321XLR aircraft, under a separate Pratt & Whitney engine agreement. The FlightSense amendment broadens Collins’ role from support for part of the fleet to coverage of the additional aircraft included in Vietjet’s narrowbody expansion.

Financial terms, contract duration, delivery schedules and aircraft registration details were not disclosed. The agreement adds a data-driven component-availability and reliability service to Vietjet’s existing maintenance arrangements without changing the underlying aircraft or engine selection.
