AURELIUS completes acquisition of Marshall Aerospace

AURELIUS completed its acquisition of Marshall Aerospace on 8 October, separating the Cambridge-based military maintenance, engineering and special-mission-conversion business from the wider Marshall Group. The transaction places the British aerospace and defence company under independent private-equity ownership, while its workforce, capabilities and programme-delivery operations continue under the new owner.

Marshall Aerospace has roots dating to 1909 and specialises in military aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul, applied aerospace engineering and advanced manufacturing. Its activities support international military operators and include special-mission aircraft conversions.

AURELIUS is expected to provide capital, strategic support and operational expertise as Marshall Aerospace pursues its next phase of growth and opportunities linked to UK and allied defence programmes. Chief executive Bob Baxter described the ownership change as a new chapter, pointing to AURELIUS’s resources and expertise as support for the company as the defence industry evolves.

The purchase price, financing arrangements and detailed ownership structure have not been disclosed. The transaction formally ends Marshall Aerospace’s ownership by the Marshall Group but does not indicate changes to its existing customer programmes or operational capabilities.
