ATR has secured a firm order from Indian regional carrier FLY91 for 40 ATR 72-600 aircraft, in a deal valued at about $1 billion at list prices. The agreement, signed in New Delhi, is ATR’s largest firm order in nearly a decade and among the biggest regional turboprop commitments in recent years.
Deliveries are set to run from 2027 to 2032, giving the Goa-based airline a multi-year fleet expansion path as it builds out service in underserved domestic markets. FLY91, which operates a small fleet today, has positioned the order around longer-term growth across secondary and tertiary city pairs in India.
The purchase adds momentum to ATR’s push in Asia-Pacific, where the manufacturer is targeting broader regional demand for low-cost connectivity. ATR executives have also pointed to India as a possible future site for final assembly, reflecting the market’s growing strategic importance for the turboprop maker.
