LATAM selects SES multi-orbit connectivity for E195-E2 fleet

LATAM Airlines Brazil has begun taking delivery of its first Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, with the new regional jets set to receive multi-orbit inflight connectivity from SES. The first of 12 aircraft scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026 was handed over at Embraer’s facility in São José dos Campos, Brazil, as LATAM prepares to deploy the type on 42 domestic routes from November 2026 through March 2027.

LATAM plans to introduce up to 14 E195-E2s during the first phase of the programme, including eight new routes and four destinations not currently served by the airline: Cabo Frio, Ji-Paraná, Macaé and Rondonópolis. The aircraft will support the carrier’s expansion across Brazil, where its network has grown from 44 airports six years ago to 63 today.

The SES system will use satellites in multiple orbits and is part of LATAM’s wider plan to equip more than 60 new Airbus and Embraer aircraft with satellite connectivity. The programme covers E195-E2s alongside A320neo and A321XLR aircraft, extending a relationship between LATAM and SES that already includes connectivity on more than 200 A320-family aircraft.

The available information confirms a LATAM-specific connectivity selection for the E195-E2. It does not establish that Embraer is introducing multi-orbit inflight connectivity as a factory-fit offering across the E2 family.
