Alaska Airlines trims Honolulu–Pago Pago service to two weekly flights

Alaska Airlines has reduced its Honolulu–Pago Pago service to two weekly flights, cutting the American Samoa route from three frequencies and shifting operations to Mondays and Thursdays. The service is operated with an Airbus A330-200, and the change took effect on 7 September.

The schedule adjustment leaves the route in place but lowers capacity on a long-haul Pacific link that serves a remote U.S. territory. Before the cut, the flight operated on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday pattern. Alaska later plans to restore three weekly flights during peak travel windows, including late December and again from June to mid-September in 2027.
