Airbus delivers first A320neo from second Tianjin line to China Eastern

Airbus has delivered the first A320neo assembled at its second final assembly line in Tianjin to China Eastern Airlines, completing the first aircraft from the new Chinese production line. The handover, carried out in Tianjin, comes as Airbus expands A320-family output in Asia while working towards a global production rate of 75 aircraft a month by 2027.

The jet is the inaugural completed aircraft from Airbus’s second A320-family line in Tianjin, which opened in October 2025. It is the company’s second final assembly line for the A320 family in China and the second in Asia, alongside the original Tianjin facility that has operated since 2008.

Airbus has previously delivered more than 800 A320-family aircraft from the original Tianjin site, underlining the role of the Chinese hub in the manufacturer’s industrial network. The additional line gives Airbus more capacity and flexibility as it continues to ramp up narrowbody production.
