Air Canada to add five destinations in summer 2027 network expansion

Air Canada will add five international destinations and seven new routes for summer 2027, extending its long-haul network from Vancouver, Toronto and Montréal. The programme includes Vancouver–Guangzhou, Toronto–Oslo, Toronto–Shannon, Toronto–Nice, and Montréal–Basel and Montréal–Dubrovnik, alongside a returning Toronto–London Heathrow day-tripper and higher-frequency service on several existing routes.

The expansion lifts Air Canada’s summer 2027 international schedule to more than 125 routes and up to 169,000 weekly seats from Canada to more than 85 overseas destinations. Newer aircraft, including the Airbus A321XLR on selected European services, will support the transatlantic build-out, while Toronto–Shanghai rises to daily operation and Toronto–Guatemala City becomes year-round. Montréal–Tenerife, Montréal–Lima and Montréal–Guatemala City are also set to remain in service throughout the year.

The additions target a mix of leisure, business and diaspora demand, with new nonstops into thinner European markets such as Oslo and Basel. Guangzhou strengthens Air Canada’s Asia offering from Vancouver, while the Toronto hub gains more breadth in Europe and Latin America as the carrier continues to lean on long-haul growth outside the United States.
