Signature Aviation and Italian vertiport developer UrbanV have formally launched Signature UrbanV Alliance (SUVA), a U.S. joint venture to develop and operate advanced air mobility infrastructure. Unveiled at NBAA-BACE 2026, the platform will initially use Signature’s private-aviation terminals to support electric aircraft with charging, handling and passenger services, before expanding to dedicated vertiports and other facilities.
The venture was first announced in June 2025 and has now moved from planning to implementation. SUVA aims to connect airports with urban and regional destinations through an integrated network, rather than developing isolated vertiport sites.
The infrastructure will be designed for multiple aircraft manufacturers and operators, including eVTOL aircraft and emerging fixed-wing types such as Electra’s EL9 Ultra Short hybrid-electric aircraft. SUVA will work with airports, municipalities, property owners, manufacturers, operators and infrastructure partners on site selection, demand assessment, and technical, regulatory and commercial planning.
Signature operates private-aviation terminals at more than 200 locations in 27 countries, while UrbanV specialises in designing, building and operating vertiport networks. The companies have not identified initial U.S. locations, construction schedules, committed operators, financing arrangements or a date for commercial passenger operations.
