Nordwind cabin crew lodge complaint over wage deductions

Nordwind Airlines cabin crew in Russia have filed a collective complaint over what they describe as wage deductions imposed as penalties for delayed reading of internal notices in the carrier’s Aviabit system. The grievance, sent to Investigative Committee chairman Alexander Bastrykin, seeks a legal review of the practice and of senior management actions, including those of deputy chief executive for service Indiana Talypova.

The workers allege that deductions are applied systematically when orders and information letters are not acknowledged on time, which they argue is not allowed under the labour code and effectively reduces their pay. Their filing centres on the claim that the airline is using payroll deductions as a disciplinary tool rather than a lawful sanction.

No official response from Nordwind was visible in the available material. The complaint also raises the prospect of further scrutiny by Russian state investigators, although it is not clear whether a formal case has been opened.
