Flughafen Stuttgart has moved its Smart Lane security checkpoint from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1, bringing the pre-bookable fast-track service alongside the airport’s newly installed CT scanners. The change, in effect from now, gives passengers a free time-slot reservation option for the security check and is aimed at streamlining passenger flows at the airport’s main departure area.
Travellers can book a 15-minute slot online between 72 hours and three hours before departure. The reservation requires a name, flight number and email address, with confirmation sent by email and the booking checked automatically at boarding pass control. The airport says the Smart Lane in Terminal 1 is clearly signposted and accessible to all gates from the departures level.
The relocation consolidates the airport’s faster screening process in one terminal, reducing the need for passengers to use a separate security point in Terminal 2. The service remains free of charge, and the airport expects the combination of CT scanners and time-slot screening to support shorter waiting times and more efficient handling during busy departure periods.
