Riyadh Air plans to serve more than 100 international destinations by 2030 as it advances its bid to turn Saudi Arabia’s capital into a major global connecting hub. Chief executive Tony Douglas set out the target as the airline continues to build its network from Riyadh, with recent additions including Manila, Bangkok, Islamabad, Lahore, Mumbai, Dhaka and Kuala Lumpur.
The expansion goal aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 diversification agenda and the wider push to strengthen aviation links through the kingdom. Riyadh Air is positioning its route network around long-haul connectivity and transit traffic, aiming to compete for international passengers flowing between Asia, the Middle East, Europe and beyond.
The airline’s growing network indicates a staged ramp-up rather than a single market entry. The addition of multiple cities across South and Southeast Asia suggests a focus on dense, high-demand routes that can support both point-to-point traffic and connecting flows through Riyadh. The 2030 target sets a clear scale for the carrier’s planned commercial growth as it moves towards full network maturity.
