Harbour Air to acquire Pacific Coastal Airlines in British Columbia regional aviation tie-up

Harbour Air has agreed to acquire Pacific Coastal Airlines and combine the two carriers into a new regional airline group in British Columbia, bringing together seaplane and conventional fixed-wing operations under Canadian ownership. The combined business will keep both brands in service for now while awaiting regulatory approval, with Vancouver set to remain the main hub. The group is expected to operate 59 aircraft, serve 25 communities and run up to 300 flights a day.

The deal centres on network expansion across British Columbia, linking Harbour Air’s seaplane services with Pacific Coastal’s regional route network to improve access to smaller and remote communities. A shared loyalty programme is planned, while operational integration will take place gradually and no purchase price has been disclosed. The structure preserves separate customer-facing brands in the interim, even as the two airlines move under a single ownership umbrella.
