SATA Holding has drawn interest from 11 parties in the planned privatisation of SATA Handling, the ground-handling arm of the Azorean aviation group. The process covers the company’s entire share capital, indicating a full sale rather than a partial stake disposal, while the applicants were required to submit documentation by Monday to qualify for the next stage.
The material submitted had to cover fit-and-proper and compliance checks, financial capacity and a statement of concrete interest. SATA Holding will now assess whether each candidate meets the participation requirements before inviting selected parties to submit non-binding offers.
The level of interest comes at an early point in the process, with no bidders identified publicly. SATA Handling provides airport ground-handling services across the Azores, so any change in ownership could affect operational arrangements in the region’s aviation network.
