Star Alliance and Incheon International Airport Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a dedicated Star Alliance-branded lounge at Incheon International Airport Terminal 1. The new facility will replace the existing Asiana Airlines Business Lounge West near Gate 42 and is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2026, timed to preserve premium lounge access for eligible Star Alliance travellers after Asiana leaves the alliance.
The lounge is intended to avoid a service gap at Incheon when Asiana exits Star Alliance as part of the Korean Air–Asiana integration. It will serve passengers from 14 Star Alliance member airlines operating at the airport and will become the alliance’s seventh dedicated branded lounge worldwide. Reports place the opening around 17 December 2026, when Asiana is expected to depart the alliance. Incheon has become strategically more important for Star Alliance because the airport would otherwise lose its current alliance lounge access.
