Delta Air Lines is expanding its international in-flight entertainment offer with Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra, bringing live sports streaming to long-haul flights to and from the United States through Delta Sync Wi-Fi. The service will be available this fall and will require passengers to log in with a free SkyMiles account before opening a web player on their personal device.
The channels will carry live coverage of major competitions including the NFL, NBA, Premier League, UEFA competitions, Formula 1 and Grand Slam tennis. The partnership is with IMG, which operates Sport 24, a live sports service used on airlines and cruise ships. Delta is targeting international travellers crossing time zones with a sports product designed for viewing on phones, tablets and laptops during flight.
Delta Sync Wi-Fi already underpins the airline’s connected onboard platform, and the Sport 24 rollout extends that ecosystem into live sports. The company has not given a specific launch date, framing the service as a seasonal introduction rather than an immediate deployment.
