Volotea will operate nearly 100 additional flights between Madrid and Seville and between Madrid and Málaga from 13 November to 16 December, offering extra capacity while high-speed rail services between Madrid and Andalucía are disrupted. The temporary schedule will initially include up to four weekly flights to Seville and five to Málaga, with one additional weekly frequency on each route planned from December. Fares are capped at €75 one-way for the basic option and €99 with a cabin bag.
The rail disruption followed an accident at Urda, in Toledo province, on 28 October. Volotea’s services are intended as an alternative for passengers travelling between the capital and Andalucía. The airline’s additional flights were available to book from 30 October.
Madrid–Seville flights are planned for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Madrid–Málaga services are scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. From December, Volotea plans to add a Thursday flight to Seville and a Sunday flight to Málaga. The airline has not specified an exact total number of flights or individual departure times.
