Wingcopter has unveiled the Wingcopter 262, an all-electric fixed-wing VTOL drone for tactical reconnaissance and persistent aerial surveillance. The aircraft is designed for defence and security users and combines up to six hours of flight time with a tactical range of 150 kilometres, positioning it for missions where long endurance and rapid deployment matter.
The new model extends Wingcopter’s portfolio beyond civilian cargo and inspection use into military and security applications. Reported specifications include a 262-centimetre wingspan, a maximum take-off weight of 10 kilograms and one-operator deployment, with readiness in minutes. That combination is aimed at border monitoring, wide-area observation and other missions that benefit from vertical take-off and landing without runway infrastructure.
The platform’s electric propulsion and fixed-wing layout are intended to support sustained surveillance over larger areas than typical multirotor systems can cover. One published summary also points to AI-supported electro-optical and infrared payload options, together with navigation functions designed for contested or GNSS-denied environments.
