Value Jet prepares to take delivery of third Boeing 737-800

Nigeria’s Value Jet is preparing to add a third Boeing 737-800 to its fleet, with 12-year-old aircraft 5N-CFY set for delivery after being ferried from Marana to Miami on 11 September. The jet, manufacturer serial number 36905, previously served Southwest Airlines and is configured with 175 seats in a single-class layout.

The carrier already has one 737-800 on the ground that has not yet entered service. Its first example, 5N-CFZ, arrived on 5 August, while another aircraft, 5N-CGA, is also still awaiting delivery. The sequence points to an ongoing fleet build-up centred on used 737-800s rather than new aircraft.

The expansion gives Value Jet additional narrowbody capacity as it develops its domestic and regional network in Nigeria and neighbouring markets. No handover date, official entry-into-service timing or route deployment plan has been disclosed for 5N-CFY, leaving the start of operations for the latest aircraft unclear.
