Spain’s Council of Ministers has approved new defence agreements worth €129.35 million, including support for NH90 helicopter components, H135 simulator capacity, naval spare parts and anti-drone systems for frigates. The package covers sustainment and training needs for the armed forces, with the largest item a €98 million framework for NH90 supply and repair work for the army and navy.
The NH90 arrangement runs for two years and can be extended by a further two years, with the aim of maintaining operational availability and training flight hours. A separate €17.2 million framework will secure spare parts for naval operational systems over two years, with a possible one-year extension, to support the effectiveness and reliability of electronic equipment across Navy platforms.
The remaining measures comprise a €13 million contract for an H135 simulation system and an emergency procurement worth €1.15 million for two anti-drone interception systems for frigates. The measures focus on fleet readiness and operational sustainment rather than new aircraft acquisition.
