Danish drone manufacturer Sky-Watch A/S has been selected under a framework agreement with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to supply its RQ-35 Heidrun unmanned aircraft system to participating NATO nations. Awarded through the NSPA AGS & UAS Programme on behalf of the NATO UAS Partnership, the agreement provides a streamlined route for acquiring the tactical reconnaissance platform without separate national procurement procedures.
The RQ-35 Heidrun is a hand-launched, unarmed fixed-wing UAS designed for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance missions. It can remain airborne for up to 2.5 hours, supports optional onboard artificial-intelligence capabilities and can be deployed by a single operator.
Sky-Watch, based in Støvring, Denmark, is a wholly owned subsidiary of AIRO Group Holdings. The companies describe the system as operationally proven in conflict environments, including Ukraine, where it has been used to provide battlefield situational awareness while reducing personnel exposure.
The framework expands Sky-Watch’s access to NATO-aligned defence customers, but does not represent a confirmed order. No participating national buyers, quantities, contract value, minimum commitments or delivery schedules were disclosed. Eligible nations can seek procurement information through the UAS Partnership at NSPA.
