Satair and Sabena technics have signed a long-term Integrated Material Services agreement covering consumable and expendable parts for the MRO provider’s Airbus maintenance activities. Announced at MRO Europe in Amsterdam, the arrangement gives Satair responsibility for parts planning, availability and obsolescence management. It combines dedicated stock at Sabena technics facilities with access to Satair’s global inventory pool, using a pay-after-use model.
A dedicated Satair team will work on site with Sabena technics’ maintenance and procurement teams. The model is designed to reduce the MRO provider’s capital tied up in inventory and transfer stockholding risk to Satair while supporting parts availability for maintenance work.
The agreement is the first time an independent European MRO provider has joined Satair’s IMS programme, which is already established in Asia-Pacific and China. The companies did not disclose the contract’s duration, financial terms, facilities covered or implementation timetable.
