Royal Flying Doctor Service Queensland Section will acquire six Beechcraft King Air 260C aircraft from Textron Aviation to renew its aeromedical fleet in Queensland, Australia. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2028 and continue over four years, with the new aircraft replacing the service’s existing King Air 200s.
The aircraft will be fitted with a bespoke Aeromedical Mission System developed with HeliMods, including medical stretchers, integrated oxygen systems and digital connectivity. The programme keeps the RFDS on a twin-turboprop platform suited to remote and emergency patient transport across regional Australia.
The order underscores continued demand for special-mission turboprops in aeromedical service and highlights Australian cabin-integration capability through HeliMods. No contract value was disclosed.
