Project Sunrise cabin design points to a 22-hour Qantas mission

Qantas has locked in the cabin architecture for Project Sunrise, turning a 22-hour Sydney-London sector into a product exercise in endurance management. The A350-1000ULR will carry 238 passengers, with six First suites, 52 Business suites, 40 Premium Economy seats, 42 Economy Plus seats and 140 Economy seats, plus a Wellbeing Zone between Premium Economy and Economy.

The layout pushes seat density to the bottom of the A350 family while adding privacy doors in Business, 80-inch flat beds in First and Business, and a 2-4-2 Premium Economy and 3-3-3 Economy pattern. The design is built around sleep, movement, lighting, dining and hydration, backed by testing with the University of Sydney’s Charles Perkins Centre. First flights are due in October 2027.
