oneworld chief urges closer technology and policy alignment across member airlines

oneworld chief executive Ole Orvér used a closing keynote at FTE Global in Dallas/Fort Worth to call for tighter technology and policy alignment across the alliance’s 15 member airlines. He outlined a push to make travel more consistent for passengers moving between carriers by reducing friction at alliance touchpoints and improving the recognition of benefits across the network.

Orvér framed the task as narrowing the differences between member airlines without diluting their individual brands or operating models. Separate systems remain a key obstacle, particularly where information must pass across airlines or between customer-facing platforms. The alliance’s focus is on improving integration so that core products and service benefits appear more consistent, regardless of which oneworld carrier operates the flight.

The discussion also covered commercial policy gaps that can create uneven experiences for passengers when they switch between member airlines. Orvér emphasised basic customer-experience fixes alongside broader system work, suggesting the alliance is looking to make its network feel more seamless without a formal operational overhaul.
