Lufthansa tests 24-hour price guarantee for corporate NDC bookings

Lufthansa is trialling a 24-hour price guarantee for selected corporate booking requests made through its NDC channel, giving business travellers more time to secure internal approval before ticket issuance while keeping the fare fixed. The pilot began in September and is due to run until 18 January 2027, with the measure aimed at companies that often book at short notice but still work through approval chains before finalising travel.

The test is limited to selected requests and excludes some fares and routes, including the cheapest Economy tariff on European flights and certain services to Asia. It is focused on Lufthansa’s corporate distribution setup in Frankfurt rather than a wider public fare policy.

For travel managers, the move reduces the risk of price changes during approval delays and could make Lufthansa’s NDC channel more attractive for business bookings that are held back until authorisation is complete. The pilot adds another layer of flexibility to the airline’s corporate sales strategy as carriers continue to push more volume into direct digital distribution.
