Airbus opens second Toulouse delivery centre to support A320 ramp-up

Airbus has opened a second delivery centre at its Jean-Luc Lagardère site in Toulouse to speed handovers of A320 and A321 family aircraft and relieve pressure on its existing final delivery operation. The integrated facility adds capacity for single-aisle jets at the Blagnac platform, where the manufacturer is working to increase output and remove one of the main bottlenecks in its industrial system.

The new centre complements the Henri-Ziegler delivery site and brings production finishing, technical checks, customer reception and delivery logistics into one location. It spans about 35,000 square metres and includes 16 aircraft positions, plus a technical-finishing hall for the last adjustments before handover.

The additional facility is aligned with Airbus’s plan to raise A320-family production to 70 to 75 aircraft a month by the end of 2027. An Airbus executive involved in the project has described the previous delivery centre as too small for the planned volume on the Toulouse platform. Reports on the opening also indicate the new layout adds eight positions compared with the earlier setup and is designed to streamline the final stages before aircraft leave the factory.
