La Caisse and SMBC Aviation Capital expand MACH leasing platform to $3bn

La Caisse and SMBC Aviation Capital have expanded their Maple Aircraft Company Holdings Limited (MACH) aircraft leasing platform to $3 billion from an initial $1.5 billion commitment. Launched in 2024, the vehicle has already fully deployed its original capital ahead of schedule and now has runway for new transactions through December 2029, with a portfolio of 21 aircraft leased to 13 airline customers across 10 markets.

The platform focuses on new-technology, fuel-efficient aircraft and is designed to give airlines flexible financing options amid sustained demand for modern lift. SMBC Aviation Capital will continue to source transactions for MACH and act as servicer, maintaining its role in the platform’s day-to-day operations.

The enlarged commitment gives the joint venture additional capacity to back aircraft finance deals over a longer investment period. No breakdown was provided of the aircraft types in the portfolio or the airlines using them.
