KLM restores standard livery on KLM Asia Boeing 777 fleet

KLM is repainting its KLM Asia Boeing 777s back into the airline’s standard livery, restoring the crown logo and the full KLM Royal Dutch Airlines titles on the fuselage. The first aircraft to return, Boeing 777-200 PH-BQF, went to Malta on 5 August and has come back with the normal company branding, while a second 777, PH-BQD, is also undergoing the same work there.

The change ends a long-running visual distinction for the KLM Asia fleet, even though the subsidiary itself remains in place. KLM is using the repaint to create more uniformity across the fleet and to make the aircraft more flexible in operational use. A 787 had previously appeared without the Asia wording but still without the crown, making the 777 repaint a fuller reversal of the special scheme. The aircraft are being worked on in Malta, where KLM has sent widebody jets for repainting before.
