Joy Airline has opened ticket sales ahead of a planned start to operations in late September, with the new Argentine regional carrier preparing to launch using a 50-seat Bombardier CRJ-200 LR. The airline’s initial schedule centres on Jujuy, with services planned to Buenos Aires Aeroparque and Córdoba from the northwestern province.
The start-up is targeting 19 weekly frequencies in total, including 12 flights a week between Jujuy and Buenos Aires and seven between Jujuy and Córdoba. Jujuy is set to serve as the base for the operation, with the aircraft and crew positioned there for the launch phase.
Certification by Argentina’s ANAC remains the final hurdle before the first flight can take place, and the inaugural service is currently being framed for 30 September. A second CRJ-200 is expected to join the fleet later in September, supporting the airline’s initial push into domestic regional flying.
