ITA Airways takes delivery of first A321neo in Star Alliance livery

ITA Airways has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321neo in Star Alliance livery, registered EI-HXI, with the aircraft ferried from Airbus’s Hamburg facility to Rome-Fiumicino for entry into service shortly. The narrowbody is the second ITA Airways aircraft to wear Star Alliance colours, following an earlier A320 in the same alliance scheme, and lifts the carrier’s A321neo fleet to nine aircraft.

The delivery comes after ITA Airways joined Star Alliance on 1 April 2026 and reflects the airline’s continued fleet harmonisation around its alliance integration. Future aircraft deliveries are expected to receive the new livery gradually, while the existing turquoise fleet will remain unchanged. The move also extends Star Alliance visibility across ITA Airways’ short-haul operation as the carrier expands the role of the A321neo on European routes.
