GKN Aerospace is expanding its North Charlestown, New Hampshire facility with a $16 million investment to lift aero-engine component production capacity. The project adds about 57,000 square feet, taking the site to nearly 97,000 square feet, and brings in turning, surface treatment and non-destructive testing so more manufacturing steps can be completed on site.
The expansion is aimed at increasing output and supporting additional hiring at the plant. It also strengthens the company’s ability to manufacture complex engine parts in the United States, a move that supports supply-chain resilience and more localised production for aerospace customers. The site’s enlarged footprint is intended to handle more work internally, reducing dependence on outside processing and giving the operation greater flexibility as demand develops.
