Frontier to launch first South America service with three Orlando-Colombia routes

Frontier Airlines will begin its first service to South America in December with nonstop flights from Orlando International Airport to Medellín, Bogotá and Cartagena in Colombia. The ultra-low-cost carrier is opening the three routes with introductory fares and plans to build the Bogotá service to daily operation from March 2027.

The first flight is scheduled for 10 December to Medellín, followed by Bogotá on 14 December and Cartagena on 19 December. Medellín is due to operate daily from launch, Bogotá six times a week initially before increasing to daily, and Cartagena once a week. The new services are subject to government approval.

The expansion gives Frontier a new presence in a market long served from Florida by larger network airlines and leisure carriers. It also adds direct competition on Orlando-Colombia traffic, particularly for leisure and visiting-friends-and-relatives demand, while giving Frontier a route structure centered on one of its key Florida bases.
