flydubai passes 100-aircraft fleet milestone and orders 11 more Boeing 737 MAX jets

flydubai has passed the 100-aircraft fleet milestone and will take delivery of 11 additional Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in 2026, including seven 737-9 MAX and four 737-8 MAX. The Dubai-based carrier is also starting a cabin retrofit programme in September that will upgrade 21 aircraft with lie-flat Business Class seats over the next 12 months, alongside Boeing Space Bins.

The cabin work covers aircraft now fitted with recliner-style Business Class seating and forms the next phase of the airline’s fleet and product strategy. The overhead bins are designed to increase storage capacity from four standard-sized bags to six per bin, improving cabin convenience on the Boeing 737 MAX fleet.

The retrofit programme follows flydubai’s earlier multimillion-dollar refresh of its Next-Generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which introduced lie-flat Business Class seats, new Economy seats and inflight entertainment. The latest plan extends that cabin standardisation across a larger part of the fleet as the carrier continues to expand beyond 100 aircraft.
