CrewSafety has repurposed a Bombardier Challenger 605 as an emergency-evacuation training aid, creating what is described as the only trainer of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. The aircraft is operated for practical safety instruction rather than passenger or charter services, giving trainees access to an intact business-jet cabin during emergency exercises.
The aircraft provides a realistic environment for practising evacuation procedures, crew coordination and other cabin-safety tasks. Its use supplements classroom instruction and generic training mock-ups with hands-on exercises conducted inside an actual Challenger 605, including the cabin layout and physical constraints associated with a business jet.
The initiative expands the range of aircraft-specific environments available for emergency training while repurposing an aircraft that is no longer being used in its original operational role. CrewSafety’s trainer is intended to support practical instruction for personnel who need to rehearse emergency-response procedures in conditions closer to those encountered during real operations.
Details about the aircraft’s previous operator, location, conversion date, training customers and the specific exercises offered have not been disclosed.
