Aeroméxico resumed direct service between Mexico City International Airport and Santiago’s Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport on 25 October, restoring the link for the 2026–27 high season. The seasonal route is operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliners and is scheduled at six flights per week, connecting Chile with the airline’s Mexico City hub and onward services to more than 80 destinations across the Americas, Europe and Asia.
The aircraft configuration comprises 36 Clase Premier seats and 238 in economy. The current operating period is expected to run through 11 April 2027, although the schedule remains seasonal rather than year-round.
Aeroméxico chief executive Andrés Conesa indicated that the airline is assessing a permanent operation as demand in the Chilean market develops favourably. No final decision has been made, and the carrier’s widebody fleet availability remains a factor in any expansion of the route.
The resumption coincides with the start of Santiago Airport’s 2026–27 high-season schedule. United Airlines has also restored its Houston service, while Air Canada is returning to Toronto, adding capacity on key links between Santiago and North America.
