Castellón Airport recorded its strongest summer on record, with passenger traffic reaching 295,484 in the first nine months of 2026. The Spanish airport’s three highest monthly totals came during the summer period: 49,250 passengers in July, 52,328 in August and 45,900 in September, the latter representing a 15.8% increase year on year.
The January-to-September total was 34,168 passengers, or 13%, higher than in the same period of 2025. Aerocas, the airport’s operating company, forecast that 2026 would become Castellón’s best year for commercial passenger traffic and linked the performance to the expansion and diversification of its route network.
Castellón operated 16 scheduled routes during the summer, its highest number to date. Eleven routes remained active in October, serving Budapest, Kraków, Berlin, Düsseldorf Weeze, Milan, London, Brussels, Bucharest, Cluj, Bilbao and Madrid.
Aircraft movements also increased. The airport recorded 11,887 movements in the first nine months, 514 short of its full-year record of 12,401 set in 2025. The existing record was expected to be surpassed in October or November. Aerocas had set a 2026 passenger target of 400,000.
