BOC Aviation to lease 12 Airbus A320neos to Avianca

BOC Aviation has agreed to purchase 12 Airbus A320neo aircraft for long-term lease to Avianca, with the narrowbodies due for delivery in 2029. All of the aircraft will be powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines, extending the Singapore lessor’s relationship with the Colombian carrier and adding fresh capacity to Avianca’s future fleet.

The deal links BOC Aviation, Airbus and Avianca in a transaction structured as a purchase by the lessor followed by long-term leases to the airline. No financial terms were disclosed. The aircraft order fits Avianca’s fleet planning and broader strategy at Abra Group, while also supporting continued demand for the A320neo family across Latin America.

For BOC Aviation, the agreement adds to a steady flow of lessor-financed Airbus narrowbody placements and reinforces its role in funding fleet renewal for major airlines. For Avianca, the incoming aircraft will help modernise and expand its future narrowbody operations as deliveries begin later in the decade.
