Airbus has opened a new A320 Family delivery centre at its Jean-Luc Lagardère site in north-west Toulouse, creating a single location for production, finishing work, technical adjustments, customer reception and customs clearance before handover. The facility is designed to support higher single-aisle output as Airbus pushes toward a monthly A320 Family production rate of 70 to 75 aircraft by the end of 2027.
The complex spans more than 35,000 square metres and adds 16 aircraft positions close to the final assembly line, together with a dedicated hall for technical adjustments and finishing. Airbus involved more than 700 people and 50 partner companies in the construction project.
The layout gives customers direct visibility of their aircraft from dedicated workspaces, while the customs zone is intended to simplify deliveries to international operators. The new centre sits within Airbus’s broader effort to ease industrial flow at Toulouse as A320 Family demand remains strong, with the programme backlog standing at 7,577 aircraft at the end of August, including 5,691 A321neos.
