Airbus and Tribhuvan University Sign MoU to Build Aerospace Skills in Nepal

Airbus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tribhuvan University in Nepal to support the development of national skills in aeronautics and space. The agreement establishes a framework for academic cooperation and training aimed at strengthening local competencies in a country where air transport plays a central role.

The MoU focuses on capacity building at Tribhuvan University, Nepal’s main public higher education institution, which hosts engineering and science faculties relevant to aerospace disciplines. Planned areas of cooperation include the development of aerospace-related academic programs, training for faculty, specialized teaching modules and knowledge-sharing initiatives involving Airbus experts.

The partnership also aims to promote careers in aeronautics and space among Nepalese students and to improve the employability of graduates by aligning technical education with international standards. The agreement is presented as a first structured step toward a long-term collaboration, without specifying its duration or financial terms.

No figures are disclosed on investment amounts, numbers of students or detailed training volumes. The MoU remains a non-binding cooperation framework that could later lead to training programs, student projects, applied research activities and Airbus participation in academic events. The initiative forms part of a broader strategy to support local skills development in countries experiencing growth in air transport and aerospace activity.
