Isar Aerospace and Maritime Launch Services have signed a Letter of Intent to develop orbital launch readiness for the Spectrum launch vehicle from Spaceport Nova Scotia in Canada. Dated May 26, 2026, the agreement links Isar Aerospace’s small satellite launch system with the future Canadian spaceport operated by Maritime Launch Services.
The partnership targets sovereign launch capability for commercial and governmental customers requiring access to mid- to high-inclination and polar orbits, including Earth observation and communications missions and constellations. Spaceport Nova Scotia is positioned to serve these trajectories from the Atlantic coast, complementing Isar Aerospace’s existing European launch infrastructure.
The agreement is framed as a Letter of Intent or Memorandum of Understanding, focusing on cooperation and planning rather than binding launch service commitments. No schedule for a first Spectrum launch from Nova Scotia, nor details on launch cadence, financial terms, or investment sharing for site infrastructure, have been disclosed.
Isar Aerospace is developing Spectrum for small satellite and constellation missions and already plans launches from Andøya Spaceport in Norway. For Maritime Launch Services, bringing a European launch provider to Spaceport Nova Scotia is intended to strengthen the site’s commercial profile as a future orbital launch hub for North American and international customers.
