Airbus and Air France-KLM finalise A350 component-support joint venture

Airbus and Air France-KLM have finalised Alpha Component Solutions, a 50-50 joint venture dedicated to worldwide Airbus A350 component support. Announced in Toulouse during MRO Europe, the entity will manage a shared global pool of components and provide maintenance, repairs, supply-chain management and spare-parts access to A350 operators. It already holds contracts covering more than 500 aircraft and will serve existing and future customers.

The venture combines Airbus Flight Hours Services with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance. Its integrated offering is intended to improve component availability, maintenance efficiency and fleet reliability as the global A350 fleet expands.

Alpha Component Solutions is headquartered in Tremblay-en-France, near Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Activities transferred from Air France-KLM include operations at Villeneuve-le-Roi, Charles de Gaulle and Orly, while Airbus contributes activities based near Toulouse. The business is structured as an independent operation rather than a fleet-support unit for Air France-KLM, with most revenue expected to come from third-party customers.

The partners agreed to establish the venture in December 2024, and the European Commission approved the transaction in April 2026. Operations are due to begin by the end of 2026. Financial terms, the distribution of the contracted aircraft and the identities of the operators have not been disclosed.
