Abelo has completed delivery of three brand-new ATR 72-600 aircraft to Bangladesh-based Air Astra, closing the leasing agreement between the two companies. The final turboprop handed over under the package gives the young regional carrier additional lift for domestic and cross-country operations as it builds out its network in Bangladesh.
The ATR 72-600 is widely used on short-haul regional routes and is suited to markets where frequency, seat capacity and operating economics matter. For Air Astra, the arrival of the third aircraft supports fleet expansion plans and adds modern turboprop capacity to services linking domestic and regional destinations.
The deal gives Air Astra a full three-aircraft set from Abelo rather than a phased arrangement still in progress, completing the delivery programme in one move. No financial terms, delivery timings for each airframe or registration details were disclosed.
