WTCE and SkyRate to launch allergy-safety clinic for airlines and caterers

World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) will launch the SkyRate Clinic at its 2027 event in Hamburg, Germany, in partnership with SkyRate and Creative Nature CEO Julianne Ponan MBE. The planned initiative will focus on allergy management and passenger safety in airline catering and onboard services, including how carriers and caterers prevent, communicate and respond to allergen risks in food served during air travel.

WTCE 2027 is scheduled for 6–8 April at Hamburg Messe. Ponan, who leads allergy-free food brand Creative Nature and serves as WTCE’s special-diets ambassador, will lead the clinic. SkyRate is an independent airline allergy review platform.

The programme is intended to provide practical guidance for airlines and aviation caterers operating in an environment where passengers must rely on onboard food information, preparation controls and crew responses to manage allergy risks. The available information does not specify participating airlines or caterers, the clinic’s detailed format, or any measurable safety commitments. It also does not indicate a regulatory change or an industry-wide policy, making the initiative a planned educational and operational forum linked to WTCE 2027.
