SITA to acquire Collins Aerospace Airport Solutions in deal set to close in 2027

SITA has agreed to acquire Collins Aerospace Airport Solutions, the airport-technology business of RTX’s Collins Aerospace, in a transaction expected to close during the first half of 2027. The proposed deal would expand SITA’s portfolio with check-in, self-service, bag-drop and airport operational systems, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. The purchase price has not been disclosed.

Collins Aerospace Airport Solutions provides technology and operational expertise supporting passenger and baggage movement through airport terminals. Its portfolio includes ARINC SelfServ check-in kiosks, baggage technology and systems used to support day-to-day airport operations.

The combination would extend SITA’s coverage across passenger processing, baggage handling and wider airport management, allowing it to offer a more integrated technology portfolio to airports and airlines. SITA chief executive David Lavorel described the transaction as a response to rising passenger volumes and growing demand for faster, more connected processing and operational support.

The deal would also bring together systems used across multiple stages of the terminal journey, from check-in and self-service to bag drop and mission-critical airport operations. SITA expects the broader portfolio to strengthen customer support and help airports address disruption and resilience requirements. Ownership will not transfer until the necessary regulatory clearances and other closing conditions have been satisfied.
