DTA Aircraft Logs 30 Reservations for JP1 Hybrid-electric Multicopter

DTA Aircraft has secured 30 reservations for its two-seat JP1 hybrid-electric multicopter as it expands into the US market. The reservations cover production positions, with the first 50 aircraft designated as a Launch Edition and scheduled for delivery in 2028. Later reservations are expected to be delivered from 2029, while US flight testing is planned to begin in April 2027.

The latest total is two higher than the 28 reservations reported earlier in October. The reservations are not firm orders. The JP1 is priced at $385,000, with a $12,000 deposit, of which $10,000 is refundable.

The aircraft uses a series-hybrid powertrain comprising four battery packs and an 80-kilowatt single-rotor rotary engine. The engine can burn jet fuel or sustainable aviation fuel as a range extender.

Launch Edition customers are offered an engraved chassis-number plate, an invitation to the JP1’s first US flight and priority access to DTA’s next aircraft. DTA presents the JP1 as a multicopter rather than a powered-lift aircraft, but the Federal Aviation Administration has yet to determine its regulatory category.
